Just a little July

  July is chugging along. The latest heat wave is over. We can open windows and turn off the AC for a bit.  I can work in my sun room again too. The only drawback is that there is another Crow fledgling about assaulting my ears! Above you can see photos of a purse I just finished.  It was a kit that I got many years ago but never got around to doing for reasons. Reason number 1: I wasn't fond of the little square pattern. Reason number 2: My Dad's 2nd wife gave it to me. It wasn't until after his passing and my walking away from her abuse that I was able to face it. Emotional states control creativity. Well at least for me. I changed up the hooking pattern starting with the back and the front flap. I got bored so I started a stripe on the front. Got bored again and finished with the circle design on the front. The leather strap and clasp came with the kit and it is lined with fabric I had in my stash. Three Sisters and a Fledgling

Santa looking out at a tree I like to work next to a window when hooking or knitting. I love being able to look up and see the trees that surround my house and see the birds flitting in and out of the branches. It makes me relax and enjoy the process of making.  The tree that is right outside the window that Santa is looking out of is one of the really tall evergreens right beside the house. It is home to many birds and their nests. This last week there has been a fledgling crow hopping around the branches. Which I love.   Except for its very annoying atonal call. An adult crow, who answers the fledgling never ending atonal squawk , is musical in comparison. This thing always wants food. I cannot wait for it to grow up!
